Learn How to Podcast like a Pro!

Don't waste your time and energy producing amateurish podcasts that no-one listens to - instead create a product that your listeners look forward to...episode after episode

The fastest way to make a better podcast is through improving your voice - find out how with our free MP3 course. It's a summary of the lessons that Bob Hughes has given hundreds of times to all sorts of people in the media. Ask for the link through our enquiry page.

Podcasting - doing your own radio show over the internet - has taken off in the past year.

And why not, when all you have to do is make an audio program, stick it on the internet, and the listeners will come to you. Or will they?

Fact is there are tens of thousands of podcasts out there.

Sadly the majority of those will never get an audience, because they just can't compete with the podcasters who are doing it right and offering a level of professional quality and producing a program that sustains interest.

So how do you stand out from the crowd?

To get attention you need to make a great show that reflects your special niche interests and personality.

Yes - you need to podcast like a pro.

But - how?

That's where we come in.

We're two experienced broadcasters and trainers who have been working with people in professional media for years.

And now we're excited by the concept of podcasting. But we know that if you want to deserve an audience you need to make a great professional show regardless of your topic.

And we can tell you how.

Our "Podcast like a Pro" short course will teach you - step by step...

* What's a podcast?
* How does rss syndication work?
* Why is a blog so important as well?
* How do the search engines and directories find you?
* How do you find a podcast server, and why is that so important?
* Why do you need to go through Feedburner, too?
* What's the best way for you to podcast your own show?
* What audio equipment do you need?
* What's the absolute minimum? What's ideal for your needs and what's the deluxe version?
* What are currently available and affordable microphones, mixers and analogue to digital converters?
* What about audio mixing software? We’ll show you one great (and free) program.
* What about phone interviews or Skype interviews; outside broadcasts and collecting interviews?
* What technical standards do I need to keep up to make a listenable show on mp3?
* How do I put together my programme?
* What are some of the tricks that professionals use to keep the listener hanging on, and how can I use them in my podcasts?
* What music can I use and how do I mix it into my show? Where do I find production samples that are free to use. What music must I avoid?

We'll give you an overview of interviewing techniques (with extensive notes and a DVD of the course plus a DVD of voice production techniques provided), and the structure of communication with the key to using your podcast to influence other people.

We'll look at monetizing podcasts. Can you make money out of it (we're not sure yet) - some tips and indicators of where the commercialisation of podcasting might go.

Then there's the technical stuff. We'll keep it simple. Uploading a show, writing the blog, illustrating with pictures and getting yourself listed on the directories - we'll show you how step by step.

We'll spend time working on your voice with you to help you become a better communicator. How to breathe, working with microphones, sounding natural but more powerful, and developing the accent you want are all covered in this session.

After that comes the exciting part. Putting it all together as we rehearse, record and then review your own 10 minute podcast.

We'll even provide the server space for the 10 minute shows to be available on the net globally at the conclusion of the course so you'll be able to play it to your friends and family off the net at the end of the course.

Podcasting can make you a star, like Adam Curry, or Leo Laporte or Dawn and Drew. Haven't heard of them? You soon might! They're already pulling in global audiences of hundreds of thousands for their shows.

Will you be famous? Will you be able to give up your day job and podcast professionally?

We can't guarantee that. But do this course and you'll have a headstart on the competition. (Except, of course, the other people who do the course!).

The 'Podcast Like a Pro' short course runs over two lessons, each of them four hours in length on a Tuesday and Thursday evening 6pm to 10pm. In that time you will learn all of the above plus more. You will finish actually producing and getting online your very first podcast.

Because we have decided to limit the number of people so that we can give one-on-one attention, we suggest you act now to assure yourself a place in what already is becoming a keenly sought after course.

Classes will be held at the Sydney Mechanics School of Arts 280 Pitt Street, Sydney.

Thanks for the podcasting experience. I thought it was very well presented and highly informative. Thanks to your personal knowledge and skills in presentation, I feel confident in my understanding of what podcasts are and how to create them.
I would also like to add that I gained a lot of insight into myself from your helpful comments and our discussion on topics other than podcasting. I have gained that wonderful feeling of starting off with new energy on another aspect of self realisation. MANY THANKS!!!!
