Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 8:04 am

“In 2006, political campaigns got hip to YouTube, with every campaign following its opponent around with video cameras, hoping to generate another “Macaca” moment - pure political gold in which a leading candidate says something so incredibly stupid and racist that everyone knows he just threw a victory away,” zdnet reported.
In 2008, politics are going even deeper into YouTube, social networking and the Net. Leading the pack will be John Edwards, who is already playing the edge of online ethics, and they go on to quote this story in the Washington Post.

The case, which MySpace Australia said could be the first confirmed instance of identity fraud on the site, underlines the unreliability of much of the internet’s so-called “citizen journalism”.

Sydneys First Videocasting classes…

Sydney January 5, 2007. From the ghoulish video of the hanging of Saddam to the Queens Christmas message on podcast, video and audio from around the world has never been more accessible.

Time magazine’s acknowledgment of ‘You’ as the Person of the Year for 2005 confirms this remarkable revolution in the media.

With more than 100 million people visiting the net video site YouTube each day, a global audience is within anyone’s reach.

It has never been easier to get your video or audio out to a mass audience. But how do you make it the best possible quality?

Video on the net workshops start in Sydney next weekend, a brain child of Bob Hughes of Podcast Like A Pro, and James Edwards, Producer/Editor from The Chaser.

We’ll be teaching people how to get the best performance, the best results out of their video cameras, and editing and uploading techniques,” Bob says.

After the success of last year’s Podcast Like A Pro courses, which will continue this year, we knew there’d be a demand for people who wanted to reach their audience with video on the web.

We expect we’ll get people who want to be stars on YouTube, but there are many corporate uses for video. It’s great for sales, real estate agents could use it their listings, for example. It is also an ideal application for getting training videos out to a wide audience very quickly.

We can’t guess how people will use the ability to cheaply and quickly put video up on the web, but we do promise that after our course they’ll have a much more professional looking show, and it should be that much more effective.”.

The first Sydney classes will be held on Saturdays during January at the Writers Centre in Rozelle.
